ACH Volley Ljubljana Draws Opponents in the Elite Champions League
Today, the draw for the elite Champions League for the 2024/25 season took place at the headquarters of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV). Slovenia will be represented in the men's version of this elite club competition by the multiple national champion ACH Volley Ljubljana, which has been assigned to Group A.
The Slovenian serial champions will face the current German champions, Berlin Recycling Volleys, which also features the Slovenian national player and new member of the Orange Dragons, Sašo Štalekar. Alongside the German representatives, the group will also include the Polish team Projekt Warszawa, which finished a strong third in the Polish championship last season, and the Belgian runners-up, Greenyard Maaseik.
The Orange Dragons' camp is pleased with the draw. Head coach Matjaž Hafner concluded his thoughts on the draw: "In a competition as strong as the Champions League, there are no easy opponents and definitely, Group A presents a tough challenge. However, I believe that we are capable of making a strong impact and advancing to the next stages of the competition. We aim to seize our opportunities and win in this competition too, representing Slovenian volleyball and ACH Volley Ljubljana in the best possible light."
