City derby to kick off the season

The current national and cup champions, the volleyball players of ACH Volley Ljubljana, open the new season of the Sportklub First Volleyball League with a match against their city rivals from Črnuče at 20:00 today, in which they will defend their title of national champions. 
In the first round, the Orange Dragons will take on a young but extremely talented team from Črnuče, led by experienced coach Iztok Kšela. The Ljubljana volleyball players do not want to leave anything to chance and enter the match highly motivated to open the season to the best of their abilities.                                                                                                                          
Coach Radovan Gačič summed up his thoughts before the first match, "Last weekend we took part in a strong tournament in Novi Sad, which showed that we are on the right track. There is still space for improvement, but the level of play is already at a satisfactory level. We cannot underestimate our opponents, so we need to put on our best performance in the opening match and get our first win in front of our home fans."
In addition to the city derby with Črnuče, the Ljubljana team will also play away to Salonit from Kanal on Saturday 8 October at 19:00.
