From the team of the Slovenian national champions, it has been announced that two promising volleyball players, Amir Mohammad Golzadeh and Nejc Kožar, will join the Orange Dragons next season. The 21-year-old Iranian opposite has previously played for Saipa in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Amir’s greatest achievement is being named the best player at the Under-21 World Championship and winning the world championship title, celebrated by Amir and his teammates in 2023 in Bahrain. The Iranian will form a duo at the opposite position with Alen Šket, who has renewed his contract with the Slovenian champions. Upon finalizing the agreement with the Ljubljana club, Amir expressed his excitement, saying: "It will definitely be a big challenge in my career to play abroad and for ACH Volley Ljubljana, which also competes in the Champions League. I am happy and motivated, looking forward to the start of the season, where I will meet new teammates and the coaching staff. I really like the mentality of ACH Volley, which is accustomed to winning trophies and championships. I am confident that this will continue next season."

The Iranian opposite is not the last reinforcement for the Orange Dragons, as Nejc Kožar also moves from Krka Novo Mesto to the nest at Hala Tivoli. The 21-year-old will join another Nejc (Najdič), who despite his youth has often proven that he can handle pressure and contributed significantly to the national championship title at the age of 17. After playing for four years with Krka Novo Mesto, 21-year-old Kožar moves to Ljubljana, where he and Najdič will form a promising Slovenian setter duo. Upon signing the agreement with the multiple-time national champions, Kožar stated for the club’s website: “By signing with ACH Volley Ljubljana, a dream has come true. Ever since I was a child, I have enthusiastically followed the ACH Volley players and their remarkable results, and now I will have the honor of wearing the orange jersey. My motivation and desire to prove myself are incredibly high, so I can hardly wait for everything to start and for the team to gather at the beginning of the preparations.”

At ACH Volley Ljubljana, we extend a warm welcome to Amir and Nejc.
