The opening phase belonged to Calcit, who jumped to a four-point lead (6:10) after two successful attacks by Bošnjak. However, experienced players Štern and Urnaut quickly closed the gap, and Marovt secured the first Ljubljana lead with a block (12:11). The hosts never relinquished control again — young Jošt Kržič added a block for the highest advantage (19:16), and an in-form Štern delivered two powerful attacks to seal the first set 25:21.
The second set again offered strong resistance from the visitors. The teams remained level until the midpoint of the set, when Calcit committed a series of unforced errors, which Ljubljana exploited. After another attack from Štern for 22:16, the Slovenian champions cruised to the finish, with Pajenk closing the set from the middle (25:20).
The third set, much like the second, featured an even battle with both teams playing attractive and combative volleyball. Calcit managed to stay close until the final stages (21:20), but Urnaut decided the set with two decisive attacks for another championship victory for ACH Volley Ljubljana (25:22).
Post-match quote - Gregor Ropret, ACH Volley Ljubljana:
"Another win behind us, though not with our best performance. It was clear we weren’t fully focused, unlike in Champions League matches. Still, we managed to guide the match to our advantage relatively calmly. Calcit proved to be a solid team that defends well and caused us problems on several occasions. We have plenty of room for improvement, and we’ll need to elevate our game already in the next two league matches."
