Ljubljana's players open the final series with a victory
In the first final match of the Sportklub First Volleyball League, we watched a showdown between two old rivals of volleyball courts, the current national champions ACH Volley Ljubljana and Calcit Volley, in the Tivoli hall. With a convincing score of 3:0, the volleyball players of ACH Volley Ljubljana were the better team, dominating the whole meeting.

The beginning of the match was characterised by attractive volleyball on both sides, but it was the Ljubljana volleyballers who got the first significant advantage after Koncilja's outstanding initial shots (6:3). The Dragons continued to press on serve, and the young Šen made two aces to give ACH Volley a 12:5 lead. The Kamnik players tried to restore the balance on the Tivoli floor with a second timeout, but to no avail. The Orange Dragons were better in all elements of the game and won the opening set on the 20th point.
The Ljubljana players did not let up in the second set either. Todorović, the game organiser, played a great game and his teammates were efficient in their offensive finishes. Videčnik, with his second ace of the second set, took the lead 13:8. At 15:8, Calcit Volley requested a second half-minute break, but it did not change the situation on the court. Filip Šestan finished the set with a great longitudinal shot in favour of ACH Volley Ljubljana (25:16).
The third set was the most even, with the Kamnik volleyballers keeping contact until the 10th point. Then came great minutes from the Slovenian champions, who stopped the guests' attacks with a solid block (14:10). In the second half of the set, the Orange Dragons confirmed their dominance and won the first final match.
Statement of ACH Volley Ljubljana coach Radovan Gačič: "A great start to the final series and a smooth win on home floor. Our thoughts are already on the second match, which is on Wednesday in Kamnik, where we expect a tougher job."
