The Slovenian national champions have announced that Mikko Esko will remain with the team until the end of the season. The 46-year-old Finnish setter joined the Ljubljana squad shortly after the season began, initially committing to the team until the conclusion of their campaign in the Champions League, the premier club competition. Meanwhile, Nejc Kožar is leaving the team after the first part of the season and will continue his career with Maribor's i-Vent.

The Ljubljana volleyball team will kick off the new year with a Middle European League match this Sunday, January 5, in Tivoli Hall against the Slovak team Spartak Myjava. Following that, they will face the first major highlight of the season—the Slovenian Cup Final in the Red Hall in Velenje, where ACH Volley Ljubljana will compete against i-Vent to secure their 15th cup title.

January will also feature two critical matches in the elite Champions League, which will determine the fate of the Ljubljana team on the European stage. The first will be a home game on January 16 against Berlin, followed by an away game on January 29 against the Belgian team Greenyard Maaseik.
