The draw for the European competitions took place at the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) headquarters. The draw was also followed by the Orange Dragons camp, where they are optimistic about the new European season - this time in the Challenge Cup - with a revitalised team.

The Orange Dragons will take on VC Barkom-Kazhany Lviv in the Challenge Cup round of 16. The Ukrainian representative is still a relatively unknown club to the Ljubljana team, as they have never played against them before. They are certainly a quality opponent, having won the championship twice and the cup championship three times in the club's relatively short history.

Mladen Kašić, the new coach of the Dragons, also summed up his thoughts on the first opponent in European competitions and expectations: "We have to realise that there are no easy opponents in this kind of competitions. It is important to prepare well with the team and go step by step, because practically every round of this competition is a knockout round."

The season in European competitions starts for ACH Volley Ljubljana at the end of November, when they will compete in the first round of the 16th-finals in their home arena, Hala Tivoli, and then play the return match in Ukraine a week later.
