ACH Volley Ljubljana officially in the elite Champions League
The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) has announced the quotas for European club competitions in the upcoming season. It has now been officially confirmed that the current national and cup champions, ACH Volley Ljubljana, will play in the most elite competition, the Champions League. The Orange Dragons have already secured a place in the main part of the league alongside the remaining 17 teams, while 47 teams will fight for the remaining places.
Thus, ACH Volley Ljubljana volleyball players are returning to the elite Champions League after a year of competing in the CEV Challenge Cup, in which they achieved one of the biggest successes in Slovenian club volleyball by finishing third.
On the occasion of today's confirmation from Luxembourg, the new coach of the Dragons, Radovan Gačič, also made a statement for the club's website: "We definitely have a great desire and motivation to play in the Champions League, as ACH Volley will once again be competing with the best teams in the world. We are hoping for a good draw and we want to challenge the favourites so that we can enter the competition with confidence."
