The defending Cup champions let their rivals know that they were only interested in a convincing victory with two Mašulović attacks and a Gjorgiev block (0:3) in the very beginning of the game. The Ljubljana players, who were in a good mood, dictated the rhythm of the game, which was not followed by the home volleyball players of Fužinar. Kök, first with a block and then with three consecutive aces, made it an unassailable nine-point lead (17:8). By the end of the set, the home team had only three more points, and the set ended expressly on the 11th point in favour of the Ljubljana team.
In the second set, ACH Volley Ljubljana did not let up, with two efficient attacks by Šen giving them a 7:4 lead. Šen was also lively in the next set, scoring an ace for 19:14. Koncilja decided the set for the Ljubljana team with two strong attacks over the first tempo (17:25).
The third set was the most even opening, with Fužinar's volleyball players holding the Slovenian champions until the 12th point, when the Orange Dragons shifted up a gear again and, with an ace by Mejal, gained a three-point advantage and had the game in their hands. Šestan, who is returning from a shoulder injury, scored three consecutive points on the offensive end to keep Fužinář's players from getting any closer (18:22). Koncilja finished the match with a successful block for ACH Volley (20:25).
ACH Volley Ljubljana coach Radovan Gačič: "Considering that this is the third time we have competed with Fužinář in less than a month, the teams know each other very well. Today we did everything we set out to do perfectly and were in control of the match throughout, for which I congratulate the players. Now it's time for a little rest and then the Central European League tournament in Amstetten at the end of the month."
ACH Volley Ljubljana player Filip Šestan: "A great performance by all of us who stepped on the floor against the home team of Fužinar. I'm happy to be back after a bad shoulder injury and I'm feeling better every day. We have to continue playing the way we have been playing lately, because we will have a lot of reasons to be happy."
