ACH Volley Ljubljana  was matched with their opponents in Champions League
The draw for the elite Champions League took place in Brussels, where the multiple national and cup champions, ACH Volley Ljubljana volleyball players, are returning after a year off. The balls have determined that the Ljubljana volleyball players will compete against rivals from Germany, Italy and Turkey in the group stage of the strongest club competition.
In the first round, which will take place at the beginning of November, the Orange Dragons will travel to the famous Perugia, where the doubles pair consists of Simone Giannelli, the most valuable player of the just-ended World Championship, and Slovenian national team player and former Orange Dragons player Gregor Ropret. The multiple elite participants will play their first home game in mid-November against SWD powervolleys from Düren, Germany, before hosting Ziraat Bank from Ankara, Turkey.
The Ljubljana coach Radovan Gačič summed up his impressions after the draw and the familiar opponents. After the known opponents, I can only confirm what we have already mentioned several times, that we have a realistic chance of qualifying for the Champions League knockout rounds. The main objective remains at least third place in the group, which guarantees us a place in the European competitions under the CEV, but of course we want and strive for more."
