Radovan Gačič is the new coach of ACH Volley Ljubljana
Radovan Gačič, a renowned volleyball expert who led the Zagreb Mladost volleyball team last season, is the new coach of the current national champions from Ljubljana.
After a very successful season, in which ACH Volley Ljubljana won three championships (national championship, Slovenian Cup and Central European champions) and performed very well in the CEV Challenge Cup, coach Mladen Kašić has been replaced on the bench by a 47-year-old from Maribor, who lives in Ljubljana. He has been with ACH Volley Ljubljana since 2006-2009.
Gačič was last the coach of the Nove KBM Branik volleyball team in Slovenia, and at ACH Volley he was an assistant coach, first to Dragutin Baltić, then to Canadian expert Glenn Hoag. "It certainly feels very good, because after 13 years I am returning to the club where I practically spent almost four years. When I left the club in 2009 and now when I am returning to ACH Volley, the goals and the way of thinking are the same, i.e. to win both competitions in Slovenia and also in the Central European League. Most likely, we will play directly in the group stage of the Champions League next season, where we will try to get the most out of the competition and win matches. The team is more or less the same as last year's, which is good to prepare for the upcoming season."
