Slovenian national team player and long-time member of ACH Volley Ljubljana Matic Videčnik has renewed his contract with the club from the capital city and will thus remain in the orange nest of the reigning national and cup champions for at least two more years.

The middle blocker, who started his career in his native Slovenska Bistrica, first made his name in the jersey of Kamnik, then in 2017 he transferred to the Orange Dragons, where he will continue his successful sports career. Matic is also a member of the Slovenian men's national team, with whom he has twice won silver medals at the European Championships (2019 and 2021).

The 203 centimetres tall Videčnik and ACH Volley Ljubljana have a successful season ahead of them, with only the final series to win the national championship title to come. He has maintained a high level of play under coach Gačič and has shown excellent performances so far this season. "I am extremely happy to be staying in Ljubljana and to continue my sporting career in a team that is motivated and eager to win victories and trophies. We have had a successful part of the season, in which we enjoyed two titles (Slovenian Cup and MEVZA), and now we have the final act of the season, in which we have to prove that we are the best team in Slovenia. The team is very homogeneous, and we have become real friends also off the court.

The 29-year-old Bistrica player will form a strong Ljubljana block with Danijel Koncilja in the future.
